Video game retailer GameStop today reported earnings for its fourth quarter and full fiscal year, and the results were rather miserable. Though it is important to note that GameStop's fiscal Q4 and fiscal full year were one week shorter than the previous year due to the way GameStop calculated its number last year.

GameStop announced its fourth-quarter sales of $3.1 billion, which is a decrease of 6.7%. New hardware sales dropped 9.8% in the quarter except for Nintendo Switch. GameStop's new software sales also dropped by 7.8% in this quarter, while pre-owned sales fell even further by over 20%. Overall, GameStop posted a total loss of $187.7 million for the quarter and a net loss of $673 million for the full year.
