[Game News] Following US early access, Minecraft Earth hits 2.5 million downloads

Minecraft Earth has generated close to 2.5 million downloads across all available markets, according to Sensor Tower.The Mojang developed title launched in the US on November 12th and since then has accumulated 1.4 million installs.Last week, the US accounted for 1.2 million or 86 per cent of all downloads.The UK followed at 71,000 installs or five per cent before Canada claimed third at 37,000 or three per cent.Ranking wise, Minecraft Earth made it to third on the App Store for downloads and 14th position on Google Play on November 18th.

A few weeks after the launch of Fortnite’s second chapter, developer Epic made a seemingly minor change: the Fortnite installer for Android was updated to become the Epic Games App. What was once a tool for keeping Fortnite updated has now transformed into a way for the company to distribute its own mobile games. Today, Epic is launching its second game through the app, a cross-platform title called Battle Breakers, which is available on PC, iOS, and Android through both Samsung’s Galaxy Store and the Epic Games App.

Nintendo plans to launch paid subscription memberships for its smartphone game Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp later this week, according to an in-game news update. The company says one plan lets you “appoint one lucky animal as your camp caretaker and get some extra help around the campsite,” while with another you’ll “receive fortune cookies and store your furniture and clothing items in warehouses.”
