Guide: Small, Destroyers and SubmarinesⅡ
Jan 9, 2019
There aren’t many submarines that can be modded in game, and Albacore is one among the few. This already earns her a spot on the list, but on top of that she has a strong attribute both before and after modification, and also she is the easiest acquired submarine in the game with the highest construct possibility. Submarines are small yet fearsome, and everyone should start to build a submarine fleet starting mid game. When you do, Albacore is always a reliable choice.
Monitors are one of the ship types that aren’t always useful but can be very handy in some situations should you have one. When you have the time and resource to train one, Roberts is always a good choice to go to, as she is both easily obtained and powerful after mod (comparing to other monitors, of course). Also, monitors’ sortie cost is just a little bit higher then destroyers, so if you acquire one early game, it is also a good idea to put her in to the fleet as she can provide some serious firepower (almost the same as battleships) with a much smaller cost.
Thank you all for reading!

Today I’m going to talk about some small ships that is useful in the game. They will be drawn from destroyers, submarines and Monitors.
Ayanami is a pretty common destroyer that can be found in all the maps in chapter I and II. However, she is one of the best destroyers in the game as her skill after mod, Demon of Solomon, gives her a drastic boost in damage dealing during night battle and allow her to ignore the drawback of being damaged (although she still can’t make an attack if she is critically damaged). With that in mind, Ayanami with full torpedo build is always a last try against any target other then a Fortress or Airfield, as torpedoes can’t be used against these types of targets.
Le Fantasque is available from both construction and sortie drop. Although she is not that much a damage dealer as Ayanami is, she has the highest evasion attribute among all ships in game. This, along with her skill High-speed Maneuver which grants her a chance to dodge incoming attacks, makes her almost indestructible. Moreover, she is one of the fastest ships in the game, making her even more useful when there is an outflank point on the way as the outflank possibility is determined by the average speed of the fleet.

Yubari can only be obtained from construction, but she is easy to construct. After modification, she have the Experimental Platform skill which drastically increase the attribute of her equipment, making her just about flawless: want more firepower? Equip her with 4 guns and just sit tight while she clears out the enemy; submarines are annoying? Fit anti-subs on her and the subs are goners already; can’t handle an airstrike? Deploy her with AA guns and watch for a firework show. Her lack of defense makes her imperfect, but she is still only second to Helena, and a worthy light cruiser to invest on.
I do have some thought of her as whether to put her in this section of the guide or the Large ship section, as she is a light carrier before mod but a powerful carrier after that. At last, I decided to put her here, as her attributes alone makes her one of the best light carriers: high armor and health grants her good survivability in light carriers; not only high but also evenly distributed plane capacity makes her good at just about everything you can ask of a light carrier, let it be air controlling, bombing or anti-sub. Because of that, I would recommend to hold two Rangers in dock, one modded and act as a carrier, while the other unmod and act as a light carrier. Good thing is, she is the reward for your first purchase, and a special quest after that will award you a second Ranger when you mods the first one.
When it comes to anti-sub warfare, none is better than Bogue and her sister Chaser. Both light carriers are anti-sub specialized with their skill Ani-submarine Escortthat will greatly decrease the accuracy and evasion of enemy submarines, making them highly efficient when fighting submarines. However, Chaser is extremely hard to get (one of the rarest ships in fact) while Bogue can be found just about everywhere, thus I would recommend her over Chaser when it comes to an anti-sub light carrier.

We have talked about several Large ships, so today, lets move our attention to Medium ships, which will include ships drawn from the category of heavy cruiser, light cruiser and light carrier.
Prinz Eugen is available from both construction and sortie drop with a high chance. She doesn’t have a high mod requirement, yet the two skills she get after mod, Battle Line Defense and Phoenix, is both powerful and useful. But between the two skills, I would say that Prinz Eugen is more suitable with the former one, as there is several cruisers that can fit the damage dealer’s row, but she is the only one with the ability to tank damage for her teammates.
Wichita is a heavy cruiser that is also easy-to-get from both construction and sortie drop. Her modding requirement is a bit higher then that of Prinz Eugen, but with everything she have after modification, I would say that this requirement is way below the value it should be: the skill Full Broadside grants her unparalleled damage in all cruisers, the US Triple 8in Mk. 12/15 Guns she possess after mod is the best cruiser gun that can be mass produced, and the Super Heavy Shell can greatly increase the damage output of each and every cruisers equipped it. Thus, it would be my recommendation that not only should you level up the first Wichita you get, also level up and mod Wichitas you get later in the game when you have resources and cores to spare for more of those important cruiser equipments.
Helena is the reward when you reach player level 20, and she is by far the most balanced and versatilecruiser. Her skills after modification, Intelligence Analysis andSix Inches Machine Guns are likewise both useful and powerful, with the former increase the recon attribute of all ships in the fleet (this works even in branch judgement) and the latter give her the ability to wipe multiple lesser enemies in night fight. In short, she is a general-purpose light cruiser that can fit almost every job and should be leveled up as soon as possible.
To be continued.

Missouri can only be obtained by construction with an extra low construct rate. However, she is worth every bit of resource and blueprints you spend for her: as an unmod battleship, her attributes are even better than some modded battleships, and her skill Ace of Spades is available as soon as she is acquired which let her prioritize battleships and battle cruisers over other targets. Considering the fact that most Bosses in event maps drops into these two categories, this makes Missouri an extra powerful choice when there is an event map waiting.
Rodney is available both from construction and sortie drop with a relatively high rate. That combining with her nice attributes makes her a very useful battleship early game. After modification, Rodney gets two skills, Big Seven and Revenge, which I recommend the former as it turns Rodney into one of the most fearsome damage dealers even inlate game.
Just like Missouri, Tirpitz is a hard-to-get battleship that is only available in construction. Yet, the skill she gets after modification, Lonely Queen of the North, is worth everything you invested as it can decrease the evasion and accuracy of enemy fleet significantly, making her ideal to lead a battleship-to-battleship engagement and effectively turn the tide of battle.
Stay tuned for Medium and Small！
